Bloch Schelomo Starker Mehta UK Decca SXL 6440
Janos Starker and the Israel Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta perform “Schelomo” and “Voices in the Wilderness” by Ernest Bloch. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 6440 stampers 2W/2W), the labels have “Made in England” at 10 o’clock, full frequency stereophonic sound logo, and a “fatband”. The record is of slightly worn appearance but plays and sounds superb (stunning recording), with occasional surface noise. The cover has rubbed with a ring with a few small creases, particularly at the bottom left-hand corner and it is a little grubby on the back.
