Description
This listing is for a vintage vinyl LP of the album by the rock band Blue Cheer called Oh! Pleasant Hope.
This is a pretty rare White Label promo version of the album released in 1971 Philips in the US with catalog # PHS- 600-350.
Record Condition:
Obvious signs of visible surface wear are present in the way of various scratches as well as some heavy scuff marks and other wear (including some small white specks, some of which came off when I lightly cleaned it).
The disc has a very slight warp to it, but it's pretty minor and didn't seem to affect play.
Most of the scratches appear to be thinner hairline scratches with only a few that are more deep groove.
This record has been listened to in full to grade the sound quality, not just visually graded like many records on eBay are.
The scuff marks on Side 2 look much worse than they sound luckily.
Surface noise is present at times such as crackles, clicks, and pops. And the occasional skip does occur. I found that the worst skips on this record were actually on the beginnings of each side.
The general surface noise is only really more noticeable during the quiet parts or in between songs.
I was actually surprised at how well some of the songs sounded despite the wear.
Clean center labels.
A thorough cleaning would probably brighten the sound and appearance up a bit more as I only gave it a light wipe down.
Industry Grade: G+ depending on how strict you are with your grading. Honestly some people might grade it as a lower end VG or VG- based on the sound quality versus just visually.
Jacket Condition:
Obvious signs of heavy wear present on the jacket including on edges, spine, and corners, including signs of water damage.
Only very minor ring wear is present.
There's a seam split of about 75%.on the top edge of the jacket.
The spine side and bottom edge of the jacket do not have any seam splits.
The back cover's paste-on back graphics is starting to come off by coming unglued, although this could possibly be repaired if desired (see photos).
Despite the wear it does have, there is no writing or old stickers of any kind
Inner Sleeve: Old generic paper inner sleeve.
Industry Grade: G or G+.
Please see the various images on this listing for further details on the condition of the record and jacket.
The record will ship outside of the jacket within a modern inner sleeve. This will prevent any further wear to the jacket or the record.
