Description

From the collection of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this great piece of Australian blues rock history. The Blue Dogs: Help Me and Walk On Boy. RARE TEST PRESSING. Australia. EMI. 1964. Label numbers: Help Me 7MV.2366 & 7XAA.1522. Walk On Boy 7MV.2367 & 7XAA.1523. The Blue Dogs were a four-piece blues band originally from Perth, WA, which grew from the Andre De Moller Trio, named after the lead singer, guitarist and harmonica player. The band relocated to Sydney and cut this, their only single, at the EMI studios. It was released in 1965 on the HMV label. Moller and bass player Ken Kramer later joined Ray Hoff and the Offbeats while guitarist John Eddy joined Johnny Young and The Kompany. Great, gutsy, rootsy blues, far ahead of its time. The record is in Very Good Plus condition, looks unplayed, though dusty from storage. There is a slight warp on the outside edge. Doesn’t affect play. Generic paper sleeve. Check my other auctions for rarities and extremities including early Australian and NZ pressings including test pressings and acetates, UK punk, The Smiths 12 inch singles, original French pressings of 60s R&B including an ultra-rare Shirelles on Vogue, US psychedelic, Sex Pistols, and a whole lot more.
