The double LP set 'Rarities Vol. 1' presents 17 tracks, dating from the years 1969-1976, that have never before been issued on vinyl. The first side features the psychedelically-infused 'Soft White Underbelly' demos, taped for the Columbia label in 1969. The other three sides include live tracks from the band's archive, outtakes from such classic albums as 'Tyranny And Mutation' and 'Secret Treaties', plus rare singles including the cover version of Steppenwolf's 'Born To Be Wild'. This edition is limited to only 1000 units, including two LP's on pearl white vinyl, a gatefold cover and liner notes with photos from the Sony Music Archive and an essay by Scott Schinder with exclusive quotes from BÖC founding members Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom. This extremely limited edition 12" single is receiving just one pressing at Third Man Pressing (the label's vinyl production facility in Detroit).  Black vinyl editions will be available at all other participating Record Store Day shops. The single marks the first physical release of music from U2's new album, "Songs of Experience," and backs the album version of "The Blackout" with an exclusive remix by the band's longtime collaborator Jacknife Lee.
