Paramount 12867 by Blind Blake

Lonesome Christmas Blues / Third Degree Blues =  P hc

Poor condition, extreme wear, record plays but music is buried in surface noise, 2 inch hairline crack, labels are worn but legible, Chicago, 1929

I have been collecting & playing traditional blues for over 40 years. Many of the records offered for sale have been in my collection for some time. Records are graded visually and confirmed by playing. I grade 78s conservatively using the VJM scale. This means records graded N- are nearly spotless and records graded G, although considerably worn, still play with music being slightly dominant to surface noise. Specific flaws will be noted along with the grade.

N- (almost New) E+, E (Excellent, low surface noise) E-, V+, V (Very good, medium surface noise) V-, G+, G (not so Good, heavy surface noise but still plays) G-, F (Fairly bad) P (Poor)

Personal note: I found this one somewhere in Georgia in the 70’s. A woman had a few 78s back in the woodshed at the bottom of a box containing some garden tools. Blake was in good company with a cracked Ed Bell Paramount and a beat Sammy Hill Victor.

United States: All 78s will be shipped in an over-sized box, secured between cardboard squares with plenty of packing material and sent USPS Media Mail. There will be a $2.00 charge added to the eBay quote of $4.00 for a total of $6.00 postage (including a tracking number) for one 78 and $.50 for each additional 78. Please wait for an invoice from me for the correct total. Records will be sent Priority Mail if requested. The cost will vary depending on the destination. Payment will be requested at the closing of each auction listing. I will hold up to five 78s for multiple shipping. Up to eight 78s can be shipped in one (12X12X6) box. My grading is guaranteed to your satisfaction. A full refund of the winning bid (not postage) will be awarded on return of any item in its original condition within 14 days of purchase.
