Description
Title: “The Blues and the Abstract Truth”
Label: Impulse. Orange and black label with black text. Mono pressing on medium weight vinyl. Catalog number is A-5.
RVG is stamped in the dead wax on both sides.
“Product of Am-Par Record Corp.” is stated on both the disc labels, and on the jacket reverse panel.
Date: 1961.
Personnel: Oliver Nelson – alto & tenor sax; Eric Dolphy – alto sax & flute; Freddie Hubbard – trumpet; George Barrow – baritone sax; Bill Evans – piano; Paul Chambers – bass; Roy Haynes – drums.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl retains 100% of original gloss, has been played a small number of times and handled with care. Grades nice VG+ to VG++ with a couple light scuffs that produce a couple isolated soft tics, but no serious marks or problems. Fidelity is excellent. Labels are clean and pristine.
JACKET: Scarce original laminated gatefold jacket is EXCELLENT with nice bright artwork. Seams, spine, and surfaces are excellent. There are a few small “bubbles” on the front and reverse, where the laminate has lifted slightly from the cover, nothing serious. A bit of minor wear at corner tips. Seams and spine are excellent except for a very tiny chip at the top left corner. Inner gatefold panels are clean and pristine. No writing, stickers, or cutout indications. Overall a very fine jacket!
