Coming to you from Planet Earth, Dr. John's Spin Factory unveils "Planet Waves," the album Bob Dylan and The Band released in 1974 featuring the classics, "Forever Young," "A Night Like This," and "Something There is About You." A more folky and less rock infused effort this was compared to Dylan and The Band's previous "Basement Tapes," this collection of songs gels in your brain very swiftly and sweetly with repeated spins. To be sure, "Planet Waves" is a must-have disc for anyone claiming to be a Dylan fan. Toward that successful end, the current copy up for sale will satisfy your search for the best sounding copy in three notable ways: (1) It was remastered, released, and pressed on high quality 180g vinyl (in 2015) by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs; (2) it is copy #0115, which is a very low number, a feature I've long found desirable with MOFI vinyl (i.e., fewer imperfections); and, (3) it is SEALED having never mated with a spinning spindle on any turntable.
