Description
An original Mono 1st pressing on UK CBS from 1964 - please bear in mind there are earlier pressings by Philips in the UK. Matrix 1A-1/2B-1. The heavy set vinyl (with rough textured labels) comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with patents pending and 3 flipbacks. Also included is an original 1965 CBS orange advertising inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use down the years. Under close inspection there a number of light marks - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is minor and only really vaguely noticeable in places on side 1. And it is all minor - most certainly nothing remotely invasive. Side 2 fairs even better with very little interference at all. Given that these Dylan numbers are all acoustic it's worth seeking out a very nicely preserved copy to do the audio justice. And this copy does a very very good job of it.
Cover (Ex-) In very nice condition and this early cover is difficult to track down in top condition. The front is lovely and shiny with only a couple of light creases. The rear, which is often the problem area, has actually escaped the worst fading. There's a nice inscription in the top-right written neatly in fountain pen. Edge wear is light and the text on the spine is all intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a superb early specimen.
Inner (Ex) No splits. Minimal creasing. One tiny number written in biro in top-right.
