ORIGINAL COLUMBIA RECORDS 1st US CL-1986 MONO PRESSING FACTORY SEALED COPY

BOB DYLAN ~ THE FREEWHEELIN’ BOB DYLAN (1963)

VERY RARE “SINGING HIS SENSATIONAL HIT ‘BLOWIN’ IN THE WIND’” PROMOTIONAL HYPE STICKER

LOS ANGELES, CA PLANT PRESSING

1st PRINT COVER BY IMPERIAL PAPER BOX CORP. WITH THE “6” IDENTIFIER MANUFACTURED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE LOS ANGELES PRESSING

Incredibly rare original very early 1st US Mono pressing factory sealed copy of the second studio album by Bob Dylan released on May 27, 1963. The currently listed copy was pressed at the plant in Los Angeles. It’s this plant in particular that pressed the incredibly rare issue with the -1A / -1A matrix numbers whose cover and the labels indicate the updated track list, but the vinyl still plays the four withdrawn tracks:

A2: Rocks And Gravel (aka Solid Road)

A6: Let Me Die In My Footsteps

B2: Gamblin' Willie's Dead Man’s Hand

B5: Talkin' John Birch Society Blues

The cover of this rare issue, just like the cover of the currently listed copy, was produced by Imperial Paper Box Corp. and contains the “6” identifier at the bottom right corner on the back. It would be fantastic luck to find this rare pressing inside this copy. However, we can’t be sure, just like we couldn’t dismiss this information. The cover of this copy, just like the other very early 1st pressing covers, contains a very rare 3⅛” x 2 ¾” hype sticker reading “ Singing His Sensational Hit ‘BLOWIN’ IN THE WIND” affixed to the cover underneath the fully intact factory shrink wrap which contains the original breathe holes on the front cover. It’s guaranteed that the Mono vinyl of this copy contains inside the red 2-eye “Guaranteed High-Fidelity” Columbia Records labels with the catalog number CL-1986 above the “Nonbreakable” banner.

The album is in stunning vintage Mint Minus condition with only the top right corner having a barely noticeable small crease and the bottom left corner having a very light push-in. The back cover has some very light age discoloration only along the mouth. Aside from that, this factory sealed copy is in pristine condition. The shrink wrap is fully intact and doesn't have any splits, tears or missing pieces containing the original breathe holes on the front cover.
