Description
Feast your eyes and possibly soon your ears on what is possibly a first pressing (if not an early pressing) of the maestro's 1963 masterpiece! Potentially a grail item here. The wax is Very Good. You will see hairlines under blazing light, but nothing feelable, except the music. After all these years the wax still has a certain luster. I gave it many spins on my trusty Thorens TD 1500 and it plays smoothly and beautifully, save for a touch of surface noise at the beginning on both sides, but hey life has surface noise, to quote John Peel. How's the sleeve, well it's wholly intact. Edge wear is prevalent, but no splits, also a little chipping at the bottom right. The back shows toning from age which is typical with white covers. Bob and Suze sure look adorable on the front cover. Here are some identifiers that verify this gem as an early (first? - feel free to chime in and enlighten me if you know more about it :)) pressing:
- Stereo "360 Sound" at the top of the front cover - Two eyes on the label - Black not white lettering on the labels - The number 1 on the back bottom right hand corner of the back sleeve
