Description

The "Genuine Basement Tapes" Volumes One to Five.

Never officially released by the record companies, these discs contain all known recordings by Bob Dylan and the Band from the basement of the house known as Big Pink in West Saugerties, upper New York State which were laid down between April and October 1967.

Over 100 songs of varying quality, here is also the genesis of Bob's forray into country music.

The tapes are almost a springboard from Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 into wider musical  genres for both Bob and the Band.

As well as the discs I am including the full colour 21 page loose bound A4 booklet containing a history of the tapes, the personell, tracklistings various reviews, criticisms and more.

As mentioned above these discs have never been released in their entirity, were recorded in a basement and have not had the benefits of the re-mastering the double official Basement Tapes had.

That said, this set is the canines genitalia for all Bobcats out there!

On 18-Dec-06 at 13:44:09 GMT, seller added the following information:

Please be aware that these are CDrs.

I felt I just had to let you all know.

I feel bad about it.

Any retractions accepted no problems.

If you still want the set then I will throw in a GENUINELY autographed copy of Street Legal to make the deal fairer.

I say genuinely signed and I mean it.

Dylan autographed it for me outside the Hammersmith Odeon when I leterally bumped into him after just buying the album to fill the gap in my collection.
