Description

original Jamaican reggae single produced by Aston Barrett: Wailers "Trouble Dub" / "Dub Feeling" (FAM'S on Tuff Gong Records)

THE WAILERS
TROUBLE DUB
DUB FEELING
original Jamaican pressing

A hard to find and intensified double dub single with Bob Marley, Peter Tosh & Bunny Wailer on Aston 'Familyman' Barrett's Jamaican label from 1970 released thruough Tuff Gong Records. According to the just issued and highly recommended book, BOB MARLEY & THE WAILERS: THE DEFINITIVE DISCOGRAPHY by Roger Steffens and Leroy Jodie Pierson, this is the original pressing of these versions. "Trouble Dub" is a haunting remix of Bob Marley & The Wailers' "Trouble On The Road Again" Wail 'N' Soul M single from late 1969. It features Bob Marley doing vocal & guitar; Peter Tosh on harmony, guitar, piano or organ; Bunny Wailer with harmony; Carlton Barrett on drums; Aston Barrett on bass. Errol Thompson engineered at Randy's Studio 17 in Kingston, Jamaica.

"Dub Feeling" is a stunning doubled-up bass dub remix of The Wailer's Wail 'N' Soul M single "Feel Alright" with Family Man's bass overdub. It was cut during the summer of 1970 with Bob on vocal & guitar and harmony vocal; Bunny on harmony vocal & piano; Peter with harmony vocal & organ; Hugh Malcolm on drums; Lloyd Brevett of The Skatalites on bass. Errol Thompson engineered once again at Randy's Studio 17. Overdubs with Aston 'Family Man' Barrett on bass also circa summer of 1970. Read my interview with Peter at midnightdread.com where you can also freely see & hear my "Who Let The Dogma In" article which gives in depth analysis to the incendiary lyrics in "Get Up, Stand Up" and their current relevance.
