Description

Bobby Dukes – ‘Just To Be With You’ / ‘Just To Be With You’ (Instrumental) – Calla 184 (US)

Beautiful Modern Soul dancer, penned by Bobby Dukes with Bobby Massey, one of the founding members of the O’Jays. A group called the Elements cut it as well – over the same backing track – as did The O’Jays (on Little Star 1401), but the Bobby Dukes version surely has the edge! Like the Elements’ disc, Bobby’s cut first came out on Cleveland’s Saru label, but was given national distribution on Calla twice, in 1972 and 1974, respectively. This is the first Calla issue (as distributed by Roulette).  

Condition: VG+ or a notch better, some scuffs and a little dust, that’s all (please listen to the clips). Clean labels (please see scans).

Shipping from Sweden has always been expensive – though I notice the rest of the world is catching up – not least due to the fact that the weight increments are few and far apart, but it’s usually swift and safe.
