This is the ultra-rare Bongo Fury LP released in 1980 by Bill Wade, former drummer for the Toronto band Moxy. It was the project he started after he left Moxy, and was recorded at his studio, Quest Recording, in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada (just outside of Toronto). I don't imagine there were more than 100 of these LPs pressed, but I can't verify the number of copies released. I do know that it is extremely rare and hard-to-find. Regardless, I feel very confident in saying that the LP was released in a very limited run.
The songs were all written by Bill (including "Young Legs" which is featured on Moxy's 3rd album, 1977's Ridin' High). The musicians on this album include Bill himself, Gino Scarpelli from Goddo, Terry McKeown, Buddy Caine from Moxy and Paul Lachapelle. The album is produced by Paul Lachapelle. I also played with Bill in the project he put together that followed the Bongo Fury album. That band was called Pure Noise, and we played a brief amount of gigs before disbanding. I have personally recorded at Quest Recording, and had the pleasure of working with Bill and Paul Lachapelle.
I am not a professional record grader. I purchased this album back in 2014 and have kept it in safe, controlled environment every since.
My grading of the cover would be VG. It is a simple cover (black on white), and for all intents and purposes appears to be the designed to release the record on a tight budget. There is some discoloration and and a few marks on the sleeve, but no major tears, flaws or significant stains (please view the pictures carefully). The cover is 100% intact, has its solidity, shows no tearing, and is only slightly to moderately worn on a couple of corners.
As to the condition of the LP itself, under very careful inspection I cannot find a single scratch or scuff on the surface. It appears as if the record has never been played, or owned by someone who took extreme care. I am not representing it as "mint", but as I said, upon inspection there are no scratches or scuffs whatsoever.
