Boris Lvovich Gutnikov (Vitebsk, 4 July 1931 - Leningrad, 6 April 1986) was a Soviet violinist, born in the Belorussian SSR. He won the 1957 Long-Thibaud Competition and, most notably, the 1962 International Tchaikovsky Competition ex-aequo with Shmuel Ashkenasi. He had been appointed a teacher at the Leningrad Conservatory soon before. Andrei Petrov composed in 1987 his Memoria for violin and ensemble in memoriam Gutnikov.

Mint:  A brand new, SEALED record, never played

NM:  Near mint, an unsealed record that looks as good as new

VG++ :  Excellent, very minor surface marks, not audible on play 

VG+ :  light surface marks, mild surface noice, few sporadic tics up and there, but should sound fine overall

VG :  more consistent noice or defects, or light scratches, no skip 

Good :  Noisy, but plays through. I will only sell rare or unusual items in this condition



Sleeve :


NM :  close to new

VG++: well preserved, minimal wear

VG+ :  well preserved cover, but sign of wear

VG :  more pronounced defects, discoloration, slight delamination, writing
