I am selling off my entire Pop, Rock and Roll, Jazz and Surf record collection that I have been collecting for over 40 years. Up for bid is a nice LP original Wally Traugott mastered pressing of Boston's Don't Look Back LP! ! I have play graded this and it sounds fantastic! C7
If you're a record collector and audiophile, the cover condition is not the important part. It is the fact that the vinyl in my collection are mostly in super clean VG+ (almost Near MINT) condition! Warm analog sound! Remember that the 1970's and 1980's vinyl and notably Epic vinyl is the best sounding with great warm bass and sweet mids. Definitely better than all that artificially EQ'd CD rerelease crap with noise reduction and artificial enhancements. You will definitely hear the difference! Epic vinyl from the 1970's and 1980's sounds awesome! Note that I have conservatively graded everything. In other words, if a record is graded VG+, it is more than likely closer to Near Mint.
Boston: Don't Look Back Epic (2A and 2B very early pressing in the deadwax stampers): VG+/Near Mint (Mastered by Wally Traugott on both sides!) What's so special about this pressing? It is mastered by Wally Traugott!! Sound is fantastic as usual due to “Wally” in the deadwax. Wally Traugott Capitol Records Mastering Engineer mastered vinyl!!! This means this is a superior sounding vinyl and his signature in the deadwax means this thing will sound great! Forget about the recent vinyl or remastered CD releases. This vinyl is the one to have! Sounds awesome and warm with great definition at all octaves! As usual, sounds great!!! I have played this and it sounds warm and dynamic! Vinyl is graded very conservatively and is in super clean Near Mint condition with the only flaws keeping it from absolute Mint being a few scuffs from the record being taken out of its paper inner sleeve. Side one has a long scuff. See pic. Otherwise looks brand new and I don't think it was ever played except by me. Even looking in direct sunlight I could not see any hairlines. Labels look excellent with no detectable spindle marks or yellowing or spots. Plays great and that Wally mastering really comes through. You can and you will notice a big difference compared to the later CD releases. The original inner paper sleeve is also in super clean conservatively graded VG+ condition. Gatefold cover is in great VG+ shape with no discernable ring wear on the front and very minor ring wear on the back. The only reason for any ring wear at all is the record causing a very slight indention. No wear from moving the album in and out from other albums stacked together. Still has great gloss with sharp edges and looks like it is still brand new. Rear cover at the bottom seam is a slight factory defect about 1/4" that looks like glue that has come out. Corner edges have just the slightest bit of fraying. No seam splits, holes, marks or water damage or mildew. Cool inner sleeve looks fantastic with no split seams. I have kept the record in a separate sleeve to conserve the original inner sleeve.
From fresh pristine master tapes so these albums sounds AWESOME! Just like the 70's and 80's are supposed to!
Sound Quality: Both are fantastic sounding albums and it sounds fantastic! You all know that the 70's and 80's vinyl pressings are the way to go and the recording, mastering, quality, and sound are FANTASTIC! You won't find this stuff anymore. Just take a listen for yourself like I did. Nice warm analog sound before compact discs and the ugly heavy hand of digital artifacts, noise reduction, EQ, loudness and compression!
Condition: I grade according to Goldmine standards. That means a VG+ vinyl will be just that, an LP that is in beautiful condtion! I am very picky when it comes to grading and grade to Goldmine standards. I absolutely hate it when dealers ameliorate the condition of the vinyl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially when I am the buyer!! All my LP's have been stored in my house upright on a shelf in an air conditioned and dry environment, meaning no warping, staining or mildew!
Track Listing: Please see the photos! If you need more photos or a better description, please let me know and I will gladly describe it in detail for you.
Shipping: Shipping will be via USPS Media Mail $8 and will be mailed in a sturdy LP mailer. International bidders, please wait for an invoice.
