Description: Very nice promotional copy of this Hugh McCracken-related 45 (he arranged and is rumoured to have played on it, as well…). I could see this 45 having appeal to fans of both 60s garage rock and 60s northern soul sounds, as it musically incorporates features of each genre, especially on the cool cover version of Willie Dixon’s “My Babe.” Apparently, this 45 has been receiving a lot of spins on the Northern Soul DJ scene as of late…
The vinyl grades visually somewhere between an EX and a VG+ rating- there are a couple of slight marks, but overall this is an extremely clean copy! The only real flaw of note is on the “Can’t Let It Ride” side: one strange, slightly white-colored mark on it that thankfully doesn’t seem to register in any way at all sound-wise during play. The mark is quite small and not deep, and perhaps at least the color could be removed by a proper cleaning (I tried to gently clean it off with a record brush, but to no avail.). However, it is noticable, and so for the sake of argument, we will say VG+ for the overall rating of this 45 because of this (although, as I said, it is purely a cosmetic flaw.) Overall, this 45 rates a solid EX sound-wise: sounding simply great! Labels are very nice, as well, with no flaws save for a red circle drawn around the title on the “My Babe” side by some absent-minded DJ, presumedly… Comes in a generic, white paper sleeve.
Buyer pays actual shipping cost by Danish mail (airmail). PLEASE NOTE: I will be on vacation from July 21st to August 1st, 2004, so I will not be able to ship out packages during that time. Any items paid for via PayPal before July 21st will e mailed out before I leave for vacation- otherwise, they will be shipped immediately upon my return (however, to be fair, this also means that the buyer gets an extra week to get payment to me this time around...) Thanks!
