Description
You are bidding on a rare, concert reel to reel tape of the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra, featuring Claudio Arrau on Bach Piano Concerto #3 and Mozart Piano Concerto #16. I believe that Charles Munch may have been the conductor on this performance, but I am not sure. I also believe this concert was performed in 1962. This is a first generation reel to reel tape that was taken from the master which was recorded live, the night of the concert. This tape, and others like it, were sent to radio stations. I purchased this from a gentleman who worked at a radio station in Boston for one year and then was a DJ in New Jersey for 17 years. "BSO BACH Piano Concerto #3 MOZART PIANO CONC. #16 CLAUDIO ARRAU". is written in pen on the side of the box. On the clear plastic of the reel in brown marker is written, 1800'. The reel and tape are in very good if not excellent condition. The tape and box are Scotch Magnetic Tape. The box states, "111 PLASTIC ALL PURPOSE SPLICE FREE", and, "1200 FEET PLASTIC". The box is in very good condition with some minor wear. The back of the box has written in marker, "Tape Grade "C".
