Description: This is the original 1970 Amaret Records release. Side One of the vinyl has some thin dried white liquid paper spots on it that occurred when I inadvertently shook the liquid paper applicator while the record was nearby. Surprisingly the needle rides thru the white spots with no skips at all, just sound pops here and there, not much different than normal groove wear, most noticeable at the beginning of track three. Side Two is easily in very good+ condition. The cover is in very good+ condition with the cellophane shrink still on it, minor edge wear, no seam splits. Please see pictures. Fresh Air was a 70's Psych band based in Ventura County Southern California. They started out playing local clubs and talent contests before being signed by the Minnesota-based Amaret label. When Fresh Air broke up around 1969, Lou Caridi, Pete Plumeri and Mike Jones regrouped with Rick Clingman and Steve Wolfenbarger to form a group called "Everything Under the Sun." No record deal ever materialized. Piscitelli went on to a career in engineering and backing vocals for, among others, Spirit, Glen Campbell, Juice Newton and John Travolta. Copies of Fresh Air's only album, 1970's A Breath of Fresh Air, one of the very first albums released on the Amaret label, who also issued recordings by the Minneapolis blues-rock quintet Crow, are highly sought-after and treasured by collectors. Featuring dramatic organ flourishes and flamboyant guitar leads throughout, A Breath of Fresh Air is similar to other organ-driven hard pop groups of the era, including Sugarloaf, Blues Image, and Three Dog Night. The highlight here is the leadoff track, a fast-paced, histrionic discotheque take on Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth", by then already a few years old, which features heavy distorted guitar and Marc Piscitelli's intense lead vocals. Six of the remaining tracks were written by the group's "sixth member," Louie Caridi, including "Somewhere a Mountain Is Moving" (taking its title from a line in the Left Banke's "Pretty Ballerina"). This was a different Fresh Air from the group of the same name that featured keyboardist Don Randi (they recorded a self-titled Fresh Air album around the same time, but for Columbia Records).
