Bruce Broughton ‎– Young Sherlock Holmes (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP) (1986)
Fabulous British 1st release of landmark soundtrack to "Young Sherlock Holmes" (1986, dir. Barry Levinson), composed and conducted by Bruce Broughton. Produced by Steven Spielberg.

This is easily one of the best orchestral film scores of the 1980s. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London.

This often-overlooked movie starred Nicholas Rowe as Sherlock Holmes, Alan Cox as John Watson, Sophie Ward as Elizabeth Hardy, Anthony Higgins as Professor Rathe/Ehtar/Professor Moriarty, Susan Fleetwood as Mrs Dribb and Freddie Jones as Chester Cragwitch.
Condition (refer also to notes at bottom): VINYL: VG. Very clean on visual inspection. No obvious marks, scuffs or hairlines. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is decent throughout. Run-ins have some surface noise (more noticeable on side 2). Mild static and surface noise in places and during quieter cues/fadeouts, but nothing major. Plays with no skipping, jumping or sticking. An enjoyable listen to this landmark 80s soundtrack release.
OUTER SLEEVE/COVER: F. Colours are clear and unfaded on this ex-library issue. Superb gloss card sleeve. Edges and corners scuffed. Spine has some splits but text readable. Aperture nicked and dogeared. Large rectangular area in top right where sticker once was, partly torn, and coloured with black marker pen. Sticker residue in top left corner. Faint disc outline. Back cover has minor damage near bottom left corner but otherwise good.
INNER SLEEVE: G+. White paper sleeve with curved corners and centre hole one side. Creasing and folds but no marks, rips or stains. Clean and intact.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
