Description

This is one of a number of vinyl albums and EPs -- some new and still-sealed, some rare -- that I am listing for auction.

This item is a very rare, new and sealed vinyl pressing of The Rising, released on 2-LPs by Columbia Records in 2002.  Springsteen was born and raised in a town near the shore in New Jersey, Freehold, and played in a number of local bands while in high school and during a very brief college stint.  Bruce then went on to begin playing local clubs in and around Asbury Park, New Jersey, and eventually garnered an audition for Columbia Records in New York City in the early 1970s.  Springsteen signed on with Columbia Records, and released his first album in 1973.  This album – which is on two LPs due to time constraints inherent in vinyl LPs – deals thematically with the after-effects of the World Trade Center attacks in 2001, and is an eloquent and moving examination of this world-changing event.  It deals with it, both on a personal basis and on a broader view, in an intelligent and non-exploitive fashion – a true tour-de-force.  This is a very rare item as well, since very few vinyl LPs were pressed.

As noted above, this album is in new, still-sealed and mint condition, as shown in the photo.
