Coral 57210. Buddy Holly. Blue Label Promo. It's hard to give a strict letter grade to the cover because it all depends on how much the main detraction affects you. Here's the description of the cover: It seems that when this album ended up in a radio station in 1958 someone thought it was a good idea to draw on his face with a pen. They added pimples and made him look like he was drooling. Maybe they were more of an Elvis fan. A subsequent owner tried to mitigate the damage and colored over the pen. See the 4th photo for a close-up view. A visual grade of the record is VG with surface wear. See the last 14 photos for surface condition. A play grade is VG+. It plays cleanly with minor surface noise. The most surface noise on the album is at the beginning of track 1, side 1. It has some pops for the first few seconds and then quiets down. You can hear all of this track at the bottom of this description section.
ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: The USPS created more unnecessary chaos on 7/10/2023. Europe no longer has consistent pricing, it varies from country to country. Finland is $3.75 more than Sweden. Does that make sense? No, it doesn't. The UK, France, Germany and a few others have a lower rate. It's not possible for me to match every country with the correct rate. I've had to use the highest rate across the board. If your country ends up being dramatically lower I'll refund the difference. You can refer to USPS.com to check their rates.
GRADING
Near Mint or Mint Minus: My top grade. The record or cover will show the most minimal of wear. The record will have top gloss. The cover will be free from any ring wear, splits, or handwriting.
VG++ : Not quite Near Mint but a super clean, desirable record.
VG+ : The record or cover will show signs of wear but no significant defects.
VG : Obvious signs of wear but the record still has life in it. VG does not mean beat.
VG Minus : The record or cover will show moderate to heavy wear. For a common record this would not be an acceptable grade. For an in-demand, rare record it should be considered.
Good : Very heavy wear. This grade would only be acceptable if the record is rare enough that you might not see another copy available for sale or it's a rare record at a low price.
