Description

V+ is an average condition 78 in which scuffs and general use has dulled the finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. 


I am not an expert record grader, but I am listening to these on a sensitive Stanton turntable through my modern tuner and Bose speakers.  I'm using a 3.5mm stylus designed to play 78 size grooves on a modern turntable.  78s from the 1920s usually have some surface noise using this setup.  


If the Blues Was Whiskey sounded very good to me.  There were a few little ticks where my needle jumped a little bit, but it didn't skip.  The very lightweight tonearm and cartridge on these 78s is prone to jumping a little bit if the record isn't 100% perfect.  


The other side, Bricks In My Pillow had slightly more surface noise.  It did not, however, have any times where the needle jumped on me.
