Bunzu Sounz Ghana Afrobeat LP Listen!
Bunzu Soundz - Bunzu Soundz Makossa International Records MA 7051, USAPretty great album that is not easy to classify, it has elements of afrobeat, rock, highlife, traditional music... The fusion results in thick grooves that make this one a must-have. Apparently this Ghanaian band (related to Hedzoleh Soundz who have recently enjoyed a reissue of their classic LP with Hugh Masekela) recorded and released this while on tour in Nigeria. The Ghana press is very hard to get but even this (American) Makossa edition doesn't turn up - especially in this condition.

Grading: Vinyl: VG to VG+ (this record was sealed when I got it. Played twice. The pressing comes with some hiss which is mostly audible in silent parts but can also be noticed during some tracks, this may have been caused by using a Ghanaian press as the master, or just inferior pressing) Sleeve: VG++ (cellophane wrap, light mould from years of storage and despite the shrinkwrap)
Disclaimer on condition: This record is part of a box of vinyl that has spent the past three decades in the humid and hot climate of Nigeria, and storage for many of these records typically has been less than careful. To find a mint condition Nigerian record is very hard, VG+ is often the best grade, and for the rarest copies we may be lucky to even find a VG- copy. To be sure that you're fine with the condition of the album, make sure you listen to the snippets.
