Description

Up for auction here is a pre-release cassette of the seminal Chicago compilation Busted At Oz. It's probably heretical to say this, but I think Busted at Oz is one of the best punk compilations ever. It's not just a bunch of random songs, it's an honest-to-god historical record of an actual event--two days of punk rock at Chicago's infamous Oz club. Plus, the music is excellent too! Strike Under are excellent, far better than their 12". The Effigies are solid as ever. Naked Raygun are at their high-weirdness peak. Da provide the blueprint for every nasty guitar tone Steve Albini has ever used. The Subverts are snotty high energy punk. Silver Abuse are absolutely terrible joke punk--and they do a ripping cover of Bomb Shelter.

I no longer have a working tape deck, so I can't play test this, but there were no problems the last time I played it and it's been stored in a climate controlled house for as long as I've owned it.
