Description

Buzzcocks - Another Music In A Different Kitchen Vinyl LP; 1st Ed 1978 UAG 30159. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.
Sleeve is VG+, it had been owned before me by the type of person who writes their name in biro on the sleeve and label (clearly photographed here). Maybe they were taking them to the youth club or something and didn't want to lose them. Other than that, outer sleeve is in great shape, original black inner sleeve has a seem split at the bottom were someone dropped the LP in too clumsily. Vinyl, after a clean, sounds better than new. I was blown away on my re-listen as I sell my collection.

Out of all the original punk bands, none of them - in my opinion - were better than Buzzcocks. Pete Shelley's unique voice, their pop sensibility alongside the unmistakable energy and noise of punk rock - and their sheer northern-ness, which made them stand out among the mostly South East-centric punk scene. Their first album opens with a teasing snatch of the guitar solo from Boredom on their debut record (and first ever independently released punk record) Spiral Scratch. Then they run through their litany of interests: cars, orgasms, rejection, and love. It's a glorious work.

HIGHLIGHTS: I Don't Mind Fiction-Romance Get On Our Own

********** All records will be posted in Defendapack Twistwrap double thickness record mailers and with the disc *outside* the sleeve and protective bubblewrap, so there will be no new corner damage or holes in the edges caused by the LP sliding inside the sleeve in transit. All existing wear, tear and damage done to the sleeve when I was a teenager and didn't think the state of my records was any concern of anyone else other than myself, will be either described or will be clearly photographed. ********** As a personal note: this is my own vinyl collection. I'm downsizing, so saying a ceremonial goodbye to my LPs and singles that have been part of my life for the best part of 50 years. I'm not a dealer: these records were bought to listen to - in many cases to listen to A LOT. And they've been with me through goods times and bad times. I'm a very careful owner, so they're mostly in really condition for their age (wish I could say that for other things), but none of them are in mint condition. As part of saying goodbye, I'm first cleaning them using a DISCO-ANTISTAT RECORD CLEANER, and to be honest they have never sounded this good - in some cases they're better than the day I bought them. Then I'm giving them a last play through, paying attention to any surface noise, audible scratches etc. I'm noticing that vinyl really took a plunge in quality around 1990 :-) both in weight and sound. Because of this last play through, I can honestly tell you what they sound like after a clean. This is a slow process - about ten records a week - so please save my ebay selling page and see if anything else you're interested in crops up: having been raised under the wing of John Peel, it's a very eclectic collection. **********
