This rare 78 promo is for the 1943 movie Stormy Weather released by 20th Century Fox.  Although titled "MinnieThe Moocher" on the label, this is actually a Cab Calloway musical tribute to film soundtrack composer and conductor Alfred Newman, preformed by Cab Calloway and his Orchestra to the tune of Minnie The Moocher. The lyrics of this unique recording constitute a biographical sketch of Alfred Newman's life and career. On the flip side is "Nearer To You".  An important addition to any collections of jazz or film historians.
