Before Cake became a renowned alternative-rock act with "The Distance" and its intentionally leaden cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," the Sacramento-based band amassed attention for the brassy single "Rock 'N' Roll Lifestyle,"-a sarcastic look at bourgeois rockers- from its 1994 debut, MOTORCADE OF GENEROSITY.
