Die Band Camel suchte lange nach einem Buch, dass sich ganz nach ihren Vorstellungen vertonen ließ. Die Wahl fiel dabei auf "The Snow Goose" und wurde zum bisher größten Erfolg der Band. Das Konzeptalbum steckt voller musikalischer Ideen und brachte es in England in die Top 30. Die komplexe Geschichte der Novelle wird von der Band in kongenialen Soundlandschaften und stilprägenden Konzepten aufgegriffen, welche lange für die Qualität eines derartigen Albums zum Maßstab werden sollte. Gleiches hat wohl auch Music On Vinyl erkannt und der Platte einen neuen Auftritt mit verbessertem Sound spendiert. 180 Gramm Vinyl at its best!
