from "Rollin Red's Big Bad But Beautiful Book of Beefheart Btgs - Volume #2" (Apocalypse) / 1995 :
"1981 Double European Btg "Don's Birthday Party DB 501/2 is the original 1ST PRESSING which arrived with the beautiful Anton Corbijn shot of Don in the Mojave Desert scanned onto a yellowish cover and was copied into a caricature painting on the 2nd pressing. Each record differs in colour.
Disc 1 = Brown marlbled vinyl. Disc 2 = Salmon Pink Marbled Vinyl. One of the most atmospheric Concerts captured on vinyl and one no fan of The Magic Band should be without. Sound quality is excellent.
PS. There are also copies in circulation on plain black vinyl, this could mean it was re-pressed on 3 different occasions, all still sought by collectors. So how many copies are in circulation is anyone's guess."
