CAPTAIN BEEFHEART

This is the rare US 1st press of 'Lick My Decals Off, Baby' by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band. This earliest press is on the pink Straight label, with the 1st press 1A/1B matrix and is complete with the original Straight inner sleeve and earliest heavy card black sleeve. The record is also complete with the original white lyric insert.
The record is in Very Good++ condition. The vinyl has a stunning gloss with a few very light wispy marks on both sides. On playing as soon as the needle touches the record there is a momentary crackle but this soon clears and the sound is vibrant, bold and sharp. There is some occasional light background noise but there is no significant sound reduction at any point. It sounds great. The labels are completely clean, with vivid colours and sharp text. There is only light spindle wear. The record is complete with the original Straight inner sleeve in Excellent condition.
The white lyric insert is in Near Mint condition. The white is bright, the text is sharp and the edges are firm.
The sleeve is in Very Good condition. The black is exceptionally bold and the colours are vivid and the image is sharp. There is a little scuff on the back opening edge and some light corner wear. The whole cover still feels very solid and the spine is firm with clear text.
