Welcome to Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band and their 1967 Debut recording 

"Safe As Milk"

Notes To Collectors:

  • This is an absolute 1967 U.S. 1st Pressing, 1st Catalog release!
  • It features the Buddah Label with the Catalog# BDS-1001 rapresenting the original MONO issue.
  • But it does not end here, metrix number on the run-off groove are BDM-1001B-1A and BDM-1001A-1B rapresenting 1st Pressing 1st Stamper from the original mother... not some subsequent slave pressing.
  • What does this mean to the casual buyer?... probably nothing... but to all the true fans of Don Vliet and his four and a half octave vocal range... the world.

Item's Condition:

Vinyl - G / VG - This is a well-played vinyl with visible scratches and sleeve scuffs. An absolute starter copy but with great historical significance. We have played selected areas of concern and they played fine with some noticeable popping and surface noise. We will therefore price this at a ridiculously low price of $.99 and will let the market decide its value.

Cover - N/A - Only the front side of the original Buddha jacket is available. We are enclosing a brand new, generic record sleeve.
