STEREO The 3rd official 'Magic Band' album and 1st double vinyl on Zappa & Cohen's independent Straight label. Released in the fall of 1969 In January 1970 the Reprise Records catalog 2 MS 2027 appeared on label issues in the US, using the original gatefold (with catalog 1053)
Gatefold jacket. White "StRaIGHt" logo on cover with cat# STS 1053.

Track A6: "Moonlight On Vermont" on sleeve, "Moonlight In Vermont" on label.  Pink straight labels, NOT auto coupled
The condition of this record is excellent bar one side which has had some damage but still plays well
THE VINYL ON SIDE 1-2 AND 3 IS EXCELLENT MINUS TO EXCELLENT, ONLY A FEW SPARSE THIN HAIR LINES AND MINOR LIGHT RUBBING TO GLOSSY HIGHLY SHINY VINYL THAT PLAYS WITH BARELY NO SURFACE NOISE - A LOVELY SET! HOWEVER SIDE 4 HAS SOME THIN SCRATCHES MAINLY ACROSS THE HIGH SHEEN BUT CAN BE FELT. AFTER TEST PLAYING, SIDE 4 PRODUCES SOME CRACKLING BUT STILL RETAINS ALL THE DYNAMICS, DOES NOT SKIP AND PLAYS PERFECTLY DEFINITELY LOOKS WORSE THAN IT SOUNDS, DUE TO THE FACT THIS SET HAS BEEN RARELY PLAYED AND SO THE DAMAGE FROM THE DEEP HAIRLINES.THIN SCRATCHES IS NOT TOO SEVERE!! THE SPINDLE HOLES SHOW VERY FEW IF ANY MARKS THAT I NOTICE EVEN UNDER A MAGNIFYING GLASS THIS SET HAS NOT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL, LOVELY CONDITION, ALL ORIGINAL WITH THE ONE SIDE THAT SHOWS DAMAGE UPON PLAYING
THE ORIGINAL GATE FOLD SLEEVE IS IN A VG++ CONDITION WITH ONLY LIGHT AGE GENERAL WEAR - WITH ONLY 1/2 INCH TOP SPLITS - NO LABELS NO WRITING SHOWS  RING WEAR - SOME BUMPING TO EDGES AND CORNERS NO RIPS OR TEARS ON HEAVY WEIGHT US CARDBOARD -  THE SPINE SHOWS SOME EDGE & CORNER BUMPING.  (SEE PHOTO)

HAS NO CUT OUTS OR PUNCH HOLES

PLEASE SEE PHOTOS

LABELS ARE SUPER BRIGHT WITH NO DAMAGE NO WRITING OR LABELS

SHOWS NO VISIBLE SPINDLE MARKINGS !! PROVING IT WASN'T PLAYED MUCH

THIS IS A VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF THE CAPTAINS 3RD LP ON ORIGINAL LABEL, IN MOSTLY TOP CONDITION - NOT TO BE MISSED THIS IS AN INVESTMENT!!

NOT THE RE-RELEASE ON REPRISE BUT THE ORIGINAL PINK STRAIGHT LABEL!!

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

FULLY GUARANTEED!

IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded.

Records are graded under bright lights or discrete sunlight - In the case of visibly possible harmful scratches, the record will be tested and sound quality noted. Many vintage (1955-70) records will play fine with visible damage due to superior vinyl and better pressings.

 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND FULLY GUARANTEED

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.

Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks

Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.

Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.

VG minus, just a smidgen below VG

Good - A disc that can be played, has obvious ware but is worth owning, a DJ copy of a rare early Motown for instance or a rare Doo-Wop or Northern Soul which could still be worth a fortune, Good Minus & Good Plus is a step above or below Good. In most cases I will not offer a disc in this condition unless it's rare and hard to find.
