Description

This is another original album from my collection purchased in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It is the classic third album by Caravan when they were heading towards symphonic, progressive rock, particularly on side two. With a more refined sound this is an excellent example of their unique take on progressive rock and was recorded at George Martin’s newly established AIR Studio. My original copy has been carefully stored and played infrequently during the last fifty three years. As always I have play graded the album and will provide an honest assessment.

The sound throughout is clear and very dynamic with no scratches, pops or clicks and a little surface noise does not detract from the overall quality of the music and is classified as EX. The gatefold sleeve has no marks or creases and still retains its original gloss. The spine is still legible (please see photos). I have included an inner sleeve that is probably not the one that was included when I bought the album but it is certainly very similar. As I have explained previously with other albums on offer I replaced most of my original inner sleeves with modern, protective sleeves to look after the vinyl, leaving me with a vast collection of old inner sleeves from my collection. It is always better to provide detailed information so that buyer and seller are fully aware of what is on offer.

This is a great opportunity to own a very rare, original album by Caravan that, when first released, did not sell many copies and took twenty years to qualify for a silver disc in the UK. This was the last album recorded by the original lineup before members left to join other bands such as the Soft Machine.
