Description
Available here is a 12" vinyl LP by Caravan - Waterloo Lily. A UK 1st pressing, it was issued by Deram in 1972 and has the catalogue number SDL 8.
Identifiers - The record bears the correct 1st pressing marks, although no matrices are actually given on the Discogs catalogue. However, those below are in accordance with other historic sales on Popsike.
Matrix / Runout - Stamped - Side A - ZAL-11258.P-3W

First pressing with brown/white Deram label (the second pressing has red/white labels)
Vinyl Condition - Very Good - The record surface is bright and clean and while a few light surface marks are present, there are no worrying scratches. The A-Side centre label bears a written name, while the B-Side label is a little stained - possibly from liquid at some point in the past which has also rippled the cover a little.
As to the audio performance, I’ve listened to both sides and can confirm that there is no jumping or sticking but expect to hear a few clicks, particularly across the B-Side. The second track specifically has a sequential run of around ten clicks early on. Background crackle/noise is also present at times - it is most likely heard during quieter moments, less so during more exuberant interludes. For all the issues the overall production is excellent, allowing the original crisp and clear sound to rise beyond the surface blemishes.
Cover/Sleeve Condition - Very Good- - Original gatefold outer cover, which is a little rippled, possibly from damp or liquid spillage (see above - no malodorous aroma). Otherwise, only light signs of wear will be found and there are no splits or rubbing of note. Inner sleeve is plain white and damage free and almost certainly a replacement.
