CARL MANN and the Kool Kats
"GONNA ROCK AND ROLL TONIGHT" b/w "ROCKIN' LOVE"
1957 ~ Jaxon 502 ~ Original First Issue
VINYL : NM- : Very seldom spun, with original gloss.
No pops or clicks, only minor surface noise.
A few very faint surface marks due to nearly 60 years of storage.
SLEEVE: Original green, thick-stock sleeve, stamped w/ number on both sides.
LABELS: Extra sharp, stamped with number on both sides (matches number on sleeve).
NOTES: This gem appeared at my little hippie record store in late 1979
along with 2000 other 45s from a local Lexington KY radio station, all from the late 1950s.
These singles came housed in their original green sleeves w/ matching stamped numbers.
All of these vinyl rarities will be listed in the coming months, so stay tuned.
Teenager Carl Mann's 1st recorded effort is raw, primitive, seductive and potent.
The A-side is a perfect example of early Rock & Roll, a cornerstone of Rockabilly.
An actual original first issue is very scarce in 2015 and very collectible.

A SIMPLE VINYL GRADING SYSTEM :
Mint: Sealed/Unplayed/Unopened/The Holy Grail
Mint minus (M-): New and Possibly Unplayed ; a rarely used grade.
Near Mint (NM): Like-new, with little or no visible wear; very scarce & collectible.
Near Mint minus (NM-): almost like-new, slight signs of age, play or wear that are strictly cosmetic.
Excellent (EX)/Very Good plus-plus (VG++): Way above average, very nice, no serious flaws.
Very Good plus (VG+): Above average; a few visible surface marks or paper scuffs; minor surface noise.
Very Good (VG) : An average used 45, far from perfect; light scratches. Noisy but plays through, no skips.
Very Good minus (VG-) : Reveals lots of wear & noise when viewed or spun but is not defective or warped.
