From my own vast private collection gathered over last 45+ years ...these mostly from 1973 - 1978 I had my own Record Store here in Northern California in the 1970's and 80's -and bringing in wonderfully vibrant and amazing Progressive Rock Imports was a top specialty and priority - I was (still am) so nuts about this music that I had 3 different evolving weekly Radio Programs dedicated to it over 20 years - and loved nothing more than turning folks on to these bands and immersing myself and my audience in these exotic sounds. Now it is finally time for me to pass them on - my hardest LPs to part with, some 8 boxes of which I shall be listing throughout this Spring. Many of the leading progenitors of the 1st progressive era, but quite a few more obscure but no less amazing artists of the period. . *Sadly I am NOT FAST at listing and can only get around 50 up at a time, but they will keep on coming approximately every other week (as I pause between, to focus on top level packing and immediate shipping) so keep checking back.
This leads me to the subject of "collecting" purchases for combined shipping with further purchases, which some ask for. I am happy to save LPs that are purchased for up to 30 days IF YOU ASK Me to - but I MUST receive payment within 7 days of initial purchase. I honestly cannot afford to sell these and not get paid by big buyers for 30 days. I would be absolutely ruined - so payment must be received within 7 days of purchase. Your note on your PayPal payment to HOLD items for combined shipping later (no more than 30 days out) will guarantee their being saved aside for your further bidding. Some of the covers have minor issues - a small handful have significant issues, but the great majority are in VG+ to EX+ condition. SPECIAL NOTE: I had planned SOUND CLIPS to accompany many of these listings, but the online AUDIO FILE host/management site I use has now gone bust, NEVERTHELESS, I (not knowing) did indeed record a slew of sound clips. Beautiful high gloss vinyl shows very faint sleeve hairlines under hard bright light only, that are inaudible. tiny bit of very faint background noise at beginning of sides that immediately disappears to NM play throughout rest. Labels are immaculate both sides. . *as these LPs have been stored away for decades, some have this "faint background noise" - almost always only at beginning of sides - from the many years tightly pressed against the sleeves - occasional tiny paper specs may be impacted on grooves on some. A good cleaning will almost always remove this .
COVER is VG+
Laminated cover is bright and clean with some edge / corner creases, very mild ring impression and importer's sticker on front. No wear, writing, soil or marks. Some light wear on spine (text completely legible) and corner tips. No splits.

Luscious Top-level Melodic Prog Psych.?
The original insert, very rarely seen, is NM - as is the printed CRYPTO company inner sleeve.
Stunningly well-wrought cult french Prog LP produced by Jean-Claude Pognant. Psyched up concept album with long, flowing complex colors and subtleties woven though.
Recorded at Studio D'Antibes-Azurville in December, 1976
Carpe Diem's second and also their last studio album. It's a very solid record and highly consistent, just like it's predecessor.
The album begins with the massive 21 minute-long suite "Couleurs", aptly titled, as subtle chromatic flavors and colors build up in a vortex of rich layers and a melange of textures and feel, including a somewhat Canterbury-flavored jazz-inflected sense of melodic freedom / fireworks. Couleurs manages to be very much a complete whole, while blending diverse atmospheres and tempos through the different parts that all seamlessly flow together into a stunning sonic tapestry. Perfect mellow symphonic warmth during a long winter night. The definite highlight of the album, with its' rich, multi-tonal structure and 'symphonic' variations.
The B-side contains some really good tracks as well; best exemplified by "Naissance", "Tramontane" and "Divertimento". FULL music - Power and grace brilliantly combined...

CARPE DIEM was a French progressive rock band active during the 1970's. They originated in Nice, first as Deis Corpus (a Jethro Tull and King Crimson cover band), transmuting into Carpe Diem "Seize the day!" By 1973 they had an entirely self-penned repertoire, with a music that cross-bred many progressive rock influences, with jazz and classical touches, but it took a further two years to get a record contract, thanks to support from Jean-Pierre Massiera. Carpe Diem recorded two albums during their lifetime, and split-up in 1979.**I have both of those 2 original press LPs for sale this week. BOTH are magnificent?. Highly melodic, in turns powerful or atmospheric, melding and flowing from one to the other effortlessly with sumptuous, delectable results.
Sadly my SOUND CLIPS, while made, cannot be put on my listings. This is one of the LPs that you should absolutely try to find some way to hear - either by eMailing me for the clips or finding someplace online that has put sound files up.
Original Custom inner sleeve included?.
Richly rewarding French flavored Prog/Psych Quite scarce actually nowadays as the original CRYPTO French issue is the only release ever to vinyl.

Disc kept in separate ANTI-STATIC inner sleeve to protect both the original inner and the vinyl. Album kept in a protective, poly outer-sleeve. .
