CASALS – 6 BACH CELLO SUITES – COLH 16/17/18
The 3 discs in individual sleeves were issued by HMV in their Great Recordings of the Century series catalogue numbers COLH 16/17/18. They feature recordings made by The Gramophone Co. Ltd. In 1936,1938 & 1939 of Pablo Casals playing the six suites for unaccompanied violoncello by JS Bach.
The 3 discs are in excellent condition both visually and aurally. One side has a very faint "smudge" mark and a very faint hairline scratch. We have listened carefully to all 6 sides – and in total there are about 20 random barely audible ticks. Definitely not intrusive or in any way detracting from the listening pleasure. There are only 2 leaflets (for Suites Nos. 3 & 4 and 5 & 6). The thick card sleeves have some edge/corner creasing but COLH 18 has a 5cm split at bottom edge.
