My Sunday bonus item this week is a 1964 ORIGINAL - NOT A REPRO, NOT A LATER REISSUE - U.S. Columbia Records 45 featuring all-time boxing legend Cassius Clay (AKA Muhammad Ali) doing a very creditable job with the Ben E. King soul classic titled 'Stand By Me', backed with a patented Clay/Ali rhyming rap titled 'I Am The Greatest'. It is Columbia Records catalog number 4-43007. Record comes packaged in an original mid-1960s Columbia Records stock company sleeve, which is in nice shape with just a little wear and fraying across the top edge. Condition of vinyl play surface is conservatively a low to mid VG+ with all original gloss and a moderate to fair amount of light surface marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Record plays well with a little light crackly surface noise and a very tiny bit of scratchiness in the first two or three revolutions. Labels are VG with some contact wear, some writing in black marker, and a 1" square white worn area on the B-side label. Please e-mail me with any questions.
