Description

Catapilla, Self-titled first album, 1971

The record is on Vertigo Records, STEREO. 6360 029. Large Vertigo Swirl logo, black text labels, Mfd. in U.K., 1st UK pressing original

Side A, 6360029 1Y//1?420 11 3

Side B, 6360029 2Y//1?420 12 2

The record is in NM condition. When viewed in natural strong light the surfaces are extremely clean except both sides have a mark that follows the run of the record. One of which produces a "tsk" sound for a split second, perhaps a few extremely light wispy sleeve removals can be seen when tilted in strong artificial light which do not effect the sound. Lovely Clean playing surfaces, Great STEREO Sound, superb AUDIO, with vibrant sound for the songs, quiet in between tracks, no skips, jumps or sticking. The music has some awesome interplay between the saxophone and particularly the extremely funky guitar playing. The female vocal by Anna Meek is very comparable to post punk bands such as X-ray Spex, The Slits and Essential Logic. Truly Progressive music considering it is from 1971!!

The labels are NM, extremely clean, no writing, and maybe 1 or 2 light spindle marks (also has a tight spindle hole), nothing obvious and a few fine ones can be seen on Side B when tilted into strong light. No discolouration to the whiteness of the labels.

The fully matt "Non Laminate" Gatefold sleeve, printed and made by Howards Printers (Slough) Ltd. (see Photographs), is in EX+ Condition, very minimal storage wear, with one fine split to top edge of cover which houses the vinyl, lovely clean spine. Internally the cover is EX, nice clean whiteness with slight shadowing, lower edge appears to have been stuck together at some point so slight feathering/ spotting to paper surface, could be cleaned up (VG+). Inner Swirl sleeve is in VG+, minor discoluration, no writing and one fine split to edge
