With ''The Ethereal Mirror'' CATHEDRAL released their next full lenght studio album in 1993, after the furious start ''Forest Of Equilibrium'' only 2 years earlier. Bands like ENTOMBED or CATHEDRAL discovered rock'n'roll for themselves this year. With the 10 tracks of ''The Ethereal Mirror'' the Coventry Quartet created a work of transition that seems almost formless in a positive sense, which draws its charm from the closely spaced styles and moods, dark Doom here on one side, right next to it loosely rocking brainworms, perhaps nowhere else has it been condensed as coherently as on CATHEDRAL's unmistakable second work. From the musty cave up to the beer-filled corner bar, then after a brief, crude dream world, a detour to the 70s Drug-Disco and back again. Here the 2019s re-isue edition as limited black vinyl with printed inner sleeve.
