CATHY BERBERIAN Beatles Arias Vinyl LP UK POLYDOR 583702 1967


Cathy Berberian has had music written for her by all sorts of Avant Garde types  - including Stravinsky John Cage and in particular her husband  Luciano Berio. Here she tackles   (if thats the right word) 12 songs by the Beatles in a style that really caught me   by surprise and I spilled coffee on my chelsea boots. Her soprano styling is   exaggerated to the point that I have no idea if this is serious or not-  But I laughed a great deal -Off the wall  isn’t the phrase . There is a slightly more common US pressing   with a pastiche of the Revolver Sleeve  but this UK version  is  Jolly rare -   


You will probably not hear anything like this in a long while !       


CONDITION -     Sleeve and record are both in EXCELLENT  to NEAR MINT CONDITION 


You will be pleased to learn there is a no  reserve and a lowish  starting price
