Description
CBS 52586: RAY RUSSELL QUARTET 'Turn Circle'
UK jazz rarity from 1968, the first album by a guitarist working at the interesection of avant-garde jazz and rock. This is a quartet date with Russell (g), Roy Fry (p), Ron Matthewson (b) and Alan Ruston (d). It was recorded at sessions during February 1968. This is an UK 1st CBS/Realm stereo pressing with green/black printing label. As far as I know there was no mono issue of this disc.
Side 1 'Footprints'/'Bonia'/'Peruvian Triangle'/'Sombrero Sam'
Side 2 'The Fry And I'/'A Day In The Working Life Of A Slave Of Lower Egypt parts 1-3'
CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is E+ (VG++) with some very light scratches/scuffs only, visible under a bright 'grading' light. There is a small amount of surface dirt/dust. This disc would benefit from being cleaned. The cover is EtoE+ (VG+toVG++), with minor surface scratching/creasing/shadowing, slight corner damage and a small amount of surface dirt/staining. There is a small amount of slight residue from a couple of sticky labels in the top left hand corner and further to the right alongthe top (see photo).
