Description

Mac/ Celeste, Italy, 1991.

M-/ M-
Very slight age spotting only, near mint. Light bubbling under label on one side. Lp like new.

Band-issued independent micro-press of CELESTE's long awaited second album; kind of a varied sequel to the mellotron-laden classic, "Principe Di Un Giorno." This one takes up right where that masterpiece left off, though it took another fifteen years or so for the band to release it. Although the second album as originally envisioned was never fully recorded, these are essentially basic recordings made by the band at the time, as the group drew nearer to the album's realization. At some point in the 70s, the project was shelved or abandoned, then later resurrected with this release. Features four long tracks comprised of mostly wild, floaty, drifty jams, with lots of spacey, echoed saxophone, some driving guitar and bass work, Arp Odyssey, flute, marimba, all combined for a magical, heady melange. With its slightly primitive recording quality, it still definitely offers a masterful sound. An incredible small-press relic, the epitome of a home-made lost archival micro-pressing, this one has all the moves, is in very nice shape, and, here's the best part....This does contain the original insert hand-numbered at #242 / 300 copies, hand-signed in blue ink by multi-instrumentalist Ciro Perrino himself. A private press masterpiece in its own right, screaming to be heard!
