called

The Absence Of A Canary V1.1

description

Canadian synth duo former located in Burlington, Ontario
consisting of Roger Humphreys and Brett Wickens, who is also
known for a design career that paralleled his musical activities
in which he worked together with Peter Saville, well-known for
designing many famous cover artworks.

In 2006 German label Vinyl-On-Demand produced a two disc
reissue of their only two official releases, the "Climatic Nouveaux"
single and the follow-up "The Absence Of A Canary" LP (dating
from 1980/81) but filled up with stunning bonus material!

Record one consists of the original LP (including the
"Climatic Nouveaux" 7inch title track), record two contains 8-track
demos (recorded between 1981 and 1984) Wickens prepared while
located in England for a never issued second LP, the b-side
"Theatre Matrix" from the single as well as the two totally impressive
tracks "Between Two Frequencies" (a demo from a collaboration
track with Jah Wobble) and "Sampling The Blast Furnice",
(a demo recorded in a studio run by William Orbit in London).
A 24-track version of this track with Andy McCluskey of OMD fame
on vocals was also produced at that time but never officially released.

The 2LP was released in an edition of  500 numbered copies only.
It's long sold out and in the meantime already quite difficult to find.
This is #56.

Must have!!!
