CHAIN Wild Cherries SPECTRUM Aus PROG Blues 1972 Poster
You are bidding on the following item.
This is an original Australian advertising poster for two dates at the short lived REGENT, a head venue in Toorak Road, South Yarra which put on a bunch of brilliant shows in early 1972 then mysteriously burnt down. It was set up along the lines of the Fillmore theatre in the San Francisco and provided a large auditorium with a good stage and even a hippie style light show to complete the atmosphere. The bands listed to appear on the two dates here (Jan 14th & 15th 1972) are a veritable who’s who of Psych, Prog and blues rock in this country; (NEW) CHAIN, IT FLEW AWAY, WILD CHERRIES (LOBBY LOYDE), FRIENDS (with PHL MANNING), ISLAND, MACKENZIE THEORY & SPECTRUM. Designed by A.F. WARD it was certainly a wonderful design, and is printed on specially textured paper. Measures 46cm x 58cm. Appears to have been used to name check various shops and outlets where tickets were sold. CONDITION: There are numerous small brown ageing spots at the top and bottom edges although they add a certain aged charm. Poster is in EXCELLENT condition and it would look great framed.
