CHAMPION JACK DUPREES FIRST BLUE HORIZON ALBUM

7-63206 STEREO (1968)

    • Record condition- Excellent
    • Jacket condition - Very Good

 

The record is in excellent cosmetic condition, a slight lessening in sound quality i.e. a few crackles & pops but no more than are artificially introduced on to some modern tracks. The jacket is also in very good condition.

 

Champion Jack Dupree famously in the late 60's moved from the States to the UK & lived in a council house in Halifax. He often played the pubs in the West Yorkshire area & I remember seeing him playing piano in a pub in Bradford circa 1969. This album features amongst others Paul Kossoff , Duster Bennett & Stan Webb

 

Dupree moved to Europe in 1960, first settling in Switzerland and then Denmark, England, Sweden and, finally, Germany.[3] During the 1970s and 1980s he lived at Ovenden, near Halifax, England where a bronze plaque has been commissioned in his memory.[citation needed] A piano used by Dupree was recently re-discovered by pianist Matthew Bourne at Calderdale College in Halifax 

 

 

Part of my record collection assembled in my Art College/Mod period in the Sixties & in the early Seventies. Always played on good quality decks & equipment but now collecting dust & needing a good home
