Description
This is a fine copy of a French archival LP by Bay Area legends the Charlatans, released in 1983. The Charlatans were one of the first major San Francisco groups, but one of the last to release an LP due to a string of bad luck with the major recording labels. With the exception of a 1969 live track, this LP draws its material from 1966 recordings the band made for an album that was never released (only a single came out at the time). It mixes group originals with covers of "Alabama Bound" (popularized by Leadbelly), Buffy Sainte-Marie's "Codine," the Coasters' "The Shadow Knows," and Delta bluesman Robert Johnson's "32-20." These tracks had previously been released only on an unofficial limited edition LP out of Italy. The jacket is all but pristine -- M(-). The disc is clean, and plays with occasional light surface noise from the audio sources (per a note on the disc labels) -- M-, graded visually.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
