Description
For auction is CHARLES PERSIP & the JAZZ STATESMEN, on Bethlehem BCP 6046, MONO, DG, 1961. With Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, others.
SOUND: VG+ or better
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. There is some underlying background noise on side A, but it is really innocuous unless you strain to hear it. That said, there were a few brief incidences of louder, audible "ticks" in both A1 (4 ticks) and A2 (7 ticks). Other than this, side A was an excellent, very enjoyable listen. Side B sounds truly breathtaking! Flawless! Crystal clean!
VINYL: VG+ or better
Visually, the vinyl explains my comments above. On side A there are a few pin-prick-size (feelable) marks as well as a couple short hairline scuffs. Side B looks great, with no flaws to mention. On maroon/silver Bethlehem labels with deep-grooves both sides. Side B label is missing a little paper on the outer edge.
JACKET: VG+/NM-
The jacket is beautiful. The edges and spine are solid, with minor routine wear. The corners are nice, again with routine wear. The upper left has a little bump. Front and back covers are very clean, and unmarked except for a distributor's stamp on the back. Front and back have very minimal wear or aging.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
