Up for your Consideration is this 19… Used 33-1/3 LP Jazz  Album by “Charlie Rouse” Titled “Takin' Care Of Business “…Feathering “Blue Mitchell (tp)- Charlie Rouse (ts)- Walter Bishop Jr. (p)- Earl May (b) & Art Taylor (d) …just to name a few….Recorded May 11, 1960… released in 1960 ... JAZZLAND Record Label --with a product number of JLP919 … -Stereophonic- Pressing LP Vinyl Condition: -STRONG NM-… shows no visible signs of wear or damage that will affect sound quality…The original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new...Labels Condition: NM-…has the “Orange with Black Print”… reads at the top...“JAZZLAND” above it "STEREOPHONIC'… at the bottom reads:…”ORPHEUM PRODUCTIONS INC., NEW YORK CITY”…Album Cover Condition: STRONG VG++ … cover painting by Gerald Andrea …Still has the Shrink Wrap on …there is a 7x4” hole in the wrap on the front and same on the back ..there is a little  bit of ware in these exposed sections otherwise … Very little if any ware …Back reads:”JAZZLAND MONO” Orpheum Production, Inc., 235 West 46th St. N.Y., N.Y. 10036”… (To me it almost looks like a MONO Cover was used for this STEREO Vinyl) …Over all Album is in STRONG NM- Condition … I have listed a rating chart below... I inspect everything under bright spot light and state what I see... RECORD: Obviously been played with noticeable surface marks & the occasional light scratch but record should play without skipping or repeating.

COVER:   Noticeable shelf wear, small tear in seams, possible writing, stains, label or record ring.

VG and below: Let’s be honest: sound quality is low and the cover may be in very poor shape.

Riverside Records- Jazzland series •JLP 19 Charlie Rouse - Takin' Care Of Business… Charlie Rouse's debut as a leader (not counting his earlier work co-leading Les Jazz Modes with the great French horn player Julius Watkins) was made for Jazzland. The distinctive tenor saxophonist, who had just started a decade-long stint as a member of the Thelonious Monk Quartet, teams up with trumpeter Blue Mitchell, pianist Walter Bishop, Jr., bassist Earl May, and drummer Art Taylor. Together they perform straight-ahead material including Rouse's own uptempo "Upptankt," the standard "They Didn't Believe Me," and songs by Mitchell, Kenny Drew, and Randy Weston. A fine modern mainstream jam session-flavored set.
